Just a poem I wrote a while ago to commending those who are really Hero's and who never get enough recognition,,so hope you all do remember on Nov./11 and keep them in your hearts,my Dad was in the Cape Breton Highlanders and 6 yrs overseas and we lost him a few yrs ago,,but will alwys remember when we bugged him for some war stories he told us of some ,,but it always seemed to bring back some memories he would of like to have forgotten ,,so this poem is dedicated to those fighting in todays war as well as yesterdays wars,,they are HERO"S L&R,,Wayne
WE DO REMEMBER! Today we shall remember, This 11th day of november Of hero's who fought and died In their heart ,country's pride, There are wars every day, Quite common you might say, But if we were never there Why should we care, Maybe for the sense of praise, As they ran thru a bullets haze, Never to look back, Their minds fully intact, They asked for no special treatment, As the Comrads Life was spent, Diving into the mud , And crawling thru the blood, Some never made it back, Statistics show that fact, A family does without, Always in some doubt, So when you think of war Think of those who setteled the score, ,It Should bring a smile to your face, For they are Hero's of our human race, Never did they ask for sorrow, Even when maybe there was no tomorrow, Just dug in and fought As the enemy they sought, I'm proud to know a soldier, Who never really got any older, But while here he died, It was with all his country's pride, With respect, Wayne 11/10/04 |
