Trads book (formerly "need yer help")

I'm doing a journal project with my English class and I was telling them about how some people write books, blogs, etc out of journals. They challenged me to write a book based on journals and I told them I would, and if they would write one journal a day all year long, I would write a book by the end of the year.

Well I'm cheating!

I'm building up a Unit on the "process of writing" that will use my book as a working example to teach from.

Would you be willing to write a few paragraphs about an experience you had while riding that illustrates one of these basic truths of motorcycling:

Outline:

Family doesn’t have to be blood

The fastest way isn’t always the best way

Have faith in yourself

Look for new things

Take chances

Be willing to see what is in front of you

Who you are isn’t as important as how you are

Make do with less

We are all more alike than different

Some times you have to stop

Sometimes you can’t stop

There is no such thing as a bad ride

You will receive full credit for your words and the book is just for the class - I'm not looking to really publish or anything - it's not that serious. All you have to willing to let me do is edit anything that the kids shouldn't read in a classroom - you can write anything you want!

Hey Trad.. I'm not caring about credit, but it looks like a fun bit of work When do you need it, & how long is it to be? ( You know I don't do all that well with short!!! lol)

just write me your recollections about a certain event - length is up to you. I don't need them too soon - I have plenty of my own journals to work with for now, but not a books worth.

Think 1000 words and two weeks as a guideline if you want, but 10,000 words a month from now is fine, as is 500 words next week (or any combination of the three - you know what I mean)

But I think it is very cool to include everyone like this. I guess we'll have to take a lot of road trips between now and the end of the school year in case you need more material :grin:

Dan, I'll take......"There is no such thing as a bad ride" and write about the ride down to Hill Country II most likely, if ya want....unless someone else wants to do it :wink:
