I have recently bought a 2003 Dyna and see some type of pink fluid in the tranny. Anyone know what brand fluid is pink? I have run a blue fluid before that I think was called shock (lucas maybe?)with minimal shift clunk. Any recommendations? For the record, anything pink doesn't seem right on a Harley unless it is breathing! Thanks, Kagy

Welcome to HZ Kagy!!!! There is a red fluid for tranny's but the brand escapes me as I suffer from CRS (can't remember shit)... Seeing you live in Fla. it's most probably got some condensation mixed in with the red stuff turning it PINK.... Consistantly making very short rides and allowing the tranny to cool is the usual cause for this......

Thanks guys. I have decided that regardless of what it is...it is getting replaced with Spectro. I always like to know for sure what I'm running and how long it has been in. That is interesting to learn about the condensation. I hardly ever ride less than an hour each way but with a recent purchase who knows what the previous owner did. Kagy

F.Y.I. The pink fluid is most likely Redline tranny fluid.a synthetic that I happen to run. Goes in red , comes out pink...(better than the other way around ha ha )

Redline is a good product some say helps you see the level easier when your check....but to be honest any gear oil 75-90 will do, I happen to run synthetic in the gear box as well....dyno in the other two holes....

Thanks. I can't get spectro locally so I am going with redline shockproof heavy. local autoparts store has it for $9.00/ quart. PINK it is and PINK it will stay !!
