Default fuel pump questions

got time for a couple of dumb questions?

ya'll know I ride an 04 fxdwgi. twinkie 88- 510g cams, SE breather. PCIII usb, new coil and stock plug wires, either HD plugs or NGKs. Bike has been dyno tuned and runs like a bat outa hell when i "gag" it Still runs a little rough at low throttle position around 2 grand rpm. will also idle poor sometimes, other times it idels great. the air to fuel ratio is dialed in across the entire range. therfore i don't think it is the map, but maybe the pcIII, fuelpump problem? or is this how those 510 cams behave ? IDK

what are the symptoms of a fuel pump problem? Would it just stop working completely all of a sudden? Would it just give me intermittent problems and slowly die?

To make sure the fuel pump is Okay, you have to hook up a pressure gauge and see if the pump is up to specs...

Can be a variety of things, most of the time it just quits and the bike won't run... a fuel pressure check will tell you 90% of it though..

You may want to ck recalls on that bike.......as I remember I think there was a recall on the external fuel line causing these types of problems around that year
