Top Plate - Maintenance Recommended

Just thought I'd share my problem with you so maybe some of you can benefit.
I mentioned on an earlier post where I'd found that the top plate on my 04 Night Train developed a leak. Still not certain if it's a gasket or the screws (they are recommended 1 time use).
Anyway - dropped off the tank at Biker's Boulevard today. When I got there, they told me they've seen a lot of this. And they told me to have the clear coat re-sealed, hopefully no paint needed, would run about $300.
This bike is what, 3 years old? I'd recommend replacing this gasket and screw maybe every two years? Pretty easy and pretty cheap insurance. Especially when you have a nice paint job.
Below is a picture of the tank. The clear coat bubbled up under the dash and the tank panel. I didn't notice it until it started to come out from under the dash console.
