If anyone out there is in the area of Richmond Ave or nearby I could surely use some help here. Seems my Partners son bought a car today (actually was in the works for two weeks, he was to pick up today) and the police are none to happy. Something about a "cardboard copy" of a lic plate???? WTF? Let's just say my guy is on nights at the fire hall, just got of the phone with him (wild) and I spoke to his son. We are here in Canada, his son is there at University in Houston and honestly we just have no clue. Need some help in understanding the differences re auto. Cardboard lic plate??
If you can help, and feel okay with providing your telephone number, please send it to me. I have free long distance calling in North America. Thank you lys |

We just bought a new vehicle yesterday. The way it was described to us is that the "Red Tags" are no loger used. The dealership has to print out a cardboard temporary tag till your plates get in. He should be able to go back to the dealer and request the cardboard tags.

What FS said is true, just recently the dealerships no longer use a magic marker on the generic form cardboard tags, they now print them apparently on a different generic stock and the old style may not be permitted for use by dealers.
