But I was glued to the window for about 20 minutes there, watching the lightning show. What is it about thunderstorms? They are one of the few things that will always bring me back to my childhood. Whether it is due to the awe and respect I have for the violence of lightning (never had to fear it yet), the joy at hearing the rumble and crash of the thunder, or the way the night sky lights up so brightly for some of the lightning bolts, I can't help but get mesmerized. I always feel like a little kid whenever a particularly spectacular bolt hits and I have to say "wow".

About this time last year, when Trad and I were flying out to Virginia, rather than flying in for the ROT rally, I watched a thunderstorm from the plane.

Neat as hell, glad I'm not out traveling in it, and I hope none of you are.

I love those thunderstorms too. The more severe the better. I know what you mean RM about being mezmerized, I get this inner feeling of peace and feel awe at the incredible display of natures power.

btw I don't like riding in it either.
