Default Bike Registration question

I have a buddy who wants to buy a bike in Texas and leave it their for when he visits his friend. He lives here in Toronto...does anyone have any idea on how he can register and insure the bike for Texas when he lives in another country?/

Thanks,
Fub

The DMV typically don't care where you live. You just transfer the title over and they'll gladly take your money. I had Texas tags on my truck and jeep when I lived there while carrying an Ontario drivers license.

Insurance is another matter. He will have to shop around for that since he will have an out of state driver's license. Perhaps somebody from Texas can chime in with more ideas on that subject. In my case I added my vehicles to another person's policy who was gracious enough to oblige me with such a favor.

Cheers,

Speed

I would call the Texas DMV. It may even be something you can reference on a Canadian website as to how you buy something here and get it registered officially in Canada.
