Here's the deal:
Have some friends, that have a son attending U of H (yes he is canadian, golf scholarship) He is there for the next 2.5 yrs and needs a car. Here is where the headache begins! I know someone here moved from Cali to Texas and had to change plates, registration and whatever else... We have gone through many options and still trying to figure out what to do...I am calling DMV Houston on Monday morning because I just feel might as well go direct to the source right? they are thinking of leasing a car here, driving there and insuring here as well From what I see, any car still needs to be registered in houston and HE will have to get a valid US lic as well. Ins wise...wow different from Cdn to USA. However again, being he is a student he will not have to surrender his Cdn lic. Guess what I am asking is for contact info. he is residing in Houston Texas ZIP 77004 Where do we begin? DMV? Tel number closest to his location etc etc If anyone has gone through this process, it would surely be greatly appreciated to hear about the experience and understand more. Thank you much in advance |
