Today was certainly another testament as to why Texas is such a great place to own a bike. Gzr, Hells & I peeled out of the metromess @ a balmy 58 degrees this mornin & ended our 270mi trip at an almost sweaty 78 degrees
Other than a couple of 30mph crosswinds coming & going ... it was a great day. We hooked up with US-287 & wound our way south down to I-45. Picked up the super slab on down to Buffalo, TX where we met Mrpiff & DeeDee for some great Mexican food at Rancho Viejo. For those of you that couldnt make it - the food was sinfully good Mrpiff & DeeDee - as always, it was great to see you two! And a sincere thanks for lunch. We'll certainly be making that ride again soon. Helluva 1st ride of the year for us. Great day, Great friends & great food. It should also be noted that Hells was representin' for our friends to the North .. 'eh?

I was thinking 1/2 the way there - it should be 58 degrees at dawn every day. Perfect temps. Nobody had the steak, but good lord, the have about 150 things on their menu! They dont have any al-keehol either .. but thats what saddlebags are for ... right Hells! LOLAnother time soon .. for sure

No BOOZE !!!! Maybe the county is dry? We live in Rusk county and it's dry but about 5 mi. down the road it's wet...The liquor store brings out the booze to the Bible thumper's LOL so no one will see them.. That just kills me

That restaurant was in Leon County. Their other restaurant in Madisonville has liquor. |

We left the house headed for Huntsville in a slight drizzle and 59 degree temps. Heading north out of Huntsville DeeDee spoted some bikes at the gas station. I dismissed them because it was a group of about a dozen crotch rockets. She said "no, look, some real bikes over there." Turns out a group of friends (including Firestarter) from CNS HOG that we ride with were there getting ready to head north also. After a short visit we all headed north on 247. They headed west near Midway and we continued north up to Buffalo.
Had a delicious lunch (George picked a winner again!) and a great visit with Kelli, George, and Hells. I couldn't believe it was already 3pm when it was time to go our seperate ways. It seemed like we had just gotten there. Missed all the folks that couldn't make it today, but I'm glad we will be doing this more often this year! The day turned out to be beautiful and we had a nice liesurely cruise home after a fun visit with our friends!
