That farking sucks !! I'm coming to Tennessee this year for a week and was planning on riding the Dragon with my Uncle Larry and my brother Steve ...

Thats not good news !! Are they patrolling Cades Cove now too ?? I was planning on running through there at least one time too ...

Geezzz that blow's !!!! In that area of the state there is nothing there to support the local income but tourism....You would think THP would do something different

Hells - you wont be able to 'haul ass' thru Cades Cove. If you go during tourist season, you'll be moving about 4mph through the entire loop

Yup, Cades Cove is a s...l.....o.........w ride. It is nice, just make sure you have a good clutch and a strong left hand. :mrgreen:

There are plenty of roads here that kick ass. The Dragon is nice but overcrowded and dangerous as hell with all the traffic. Right now is the ideal time to hit deals gap. You have the whole place to yourself. Sucches, GA is an awesome area this is just like the dragon, but different :mrgreen:

Ohh I know , I lived in Maryville , Tenn for 4 years and we used go into the mountains every weekend and quite frequently through Cades Cove ... My Uncle Larry lives in the Smokies and knows all the back roads and riding areas ...

i live just east of knoxville in morristown...and i would not worry about the dragon...it will be ok,but you need to come up during the week not weekend...also if you ride this way you can ride cumberland gap....i just about quit riding the dragon cause of stupid drivers....bikes and cars crossing the yellow line...it had got real bad around here......hell it was safer to ride downtown knoxville during rush hour than the dragon.....

That's a pretty extreme police presence. Hopefully that means less patrols on other roads in the area for you guys.
