Default Welfare.......urine test???

E-mail made me think????? Does it make you think too?????

as follows:

I'm retired but this is some thing that should be considered...........

"Like a lot of folks in this state I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them??
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?????

Something has to change in this country and soon!!!!! "

It's too early for me to get started on this topic, but I will add more later. Moving to the pig pen because this is going to be political.

I for one have no problem with this. I don't think that I should have to support someones habit. That being said if the controlling body doing the testing finds an issue what then? Would there be a program in place to help these people kick their addiction?
I agree that you would have to pass to collect but there would have to be provisions for help as well!

I can't speak for what you have in place in Canada, but the US has many programs in place to help people with addictions, on the Federal and State and most of the time County levels. With that said, I fully agree that they should be tested... It would eliminate a high percentage of them from the welfare rolls... and the unemployment rolls as well... IMHO

We wouldn't want the welfare folks to be forced to buy Food, and clothing with the $$$ we GIVE them, would we. I think it's just perfect they find ways to use that $$$ for drugs, NOT!
