Default Death Squad in Delaware

I have been following this for a while now and this is the best summary I have seen so far ...

The Case of the Murdered Marine

Delaware was the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution. It may be the first state to be afflicted with a fully operational death squad – unless a civil lawsuit filed on Friday against the murders of Derek J. Hale results in criminal charges and a complete lustration (in the Eastern European sense of the term) of Delaware's law enforcement establishment.

Hale, a retired Marine Sergeant who served two tours in Iraq and was decorated before his combat-related medical discharge in January 2006, was murdered by a heavily armed 8–12-member undercover police team in Wilmington, Delaware last November 6. He had come to Wilmington from his home in Manassas, Virginia to participate in a Toys for Tots event.

Derek was house-sitting for a friend on the day he was murdered. Sandra Lopez, the ex-wife of Derek's friend, arrived with an 11-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter just shortly before the police showed up. After helping Sandra and her children remove some of their personal belongings, Derek was sitting placidly on the front step, clad in jeans and a hooded sweatshirt, when an unmarked police car and a blacked-out SUV arrived and disgorged their murderous cargo.

I remember when this first occurred. It's a tragic nightmare.

This is what happens when you pay LEOs 20 to 25k a year.

Pay 'em peanuts they'll send you monkeys.

Simple as that.

It's not really that simple, there are many underpaid people in the World, and they aren't all corrupt, cold bloded killers. Has more to do with a persons character, or lack thereof........IMO

Nothing is that simple, but it all starts and ends with money in this world FB. Don't kid yourself. Underpaid with a gun and a license to kill is a lot different than underpaid and flipping burgers. Absolute power and all that crap.

Anybody in a position of power has the capacity to abuse it. When you set the barrier to entry so low - income wise - law of averages says you are going to attract lower quality candidates.

I don't tend to agree with that SM, there are at least three trades that people who enter into them do it because it's more of a calling, than a monetary move. One is Teaching, another is the Military, the third would be a Cop. These people never entered these fields for $$$ because they know there will be little. Most of them have a calling, or better put, have it in their blood. I think we do these people a dis-service by looping the majority in with the bad apples. My Parents taught School for over 20 years, I have 3 Uncles who made career's out of the Military, plus numerous Friends, and we all know Police Officer's who don't kill in cold blood. Actually, I don't know any who do kill in cold blood.............have to get my ass to work, more later SM
