Chris,
I'm curious as to your opinion, legalities & protocol say, for instance, scanning & posting a magazine article like a ride or something? Reason being, we subscribe to both Texas Highways and Ride Texas. They have awesome information in their articles, but I'm not clear on if you can post that stuff generally, or maybe with some disclaimer as to where the article originated? Thanks a million! |

I am no copyright lawyer however...we all take info from CNN, NYTimes etc...and post. Info is posted on a consistent basis. Whether that be from a mag or Internet info. If you wish to post info and / or news from a media source (which includes a magazine) post and credit source with URL/date/mag name etc. You are giving credit where credit is due. You are not claiming it to be your piece of work/opinion or otherwise. If in doubt, contact said mag...I am certain they will be happy for you to spread their word. With due credit.

The fair use/dealing principles that I quoted above is the law angelys. You can think whatever you want, but you're wrong. I am very well versed in Internet copyright issues and laws, which is why I commented on it, but deferred on the hard print. Get your facts straight.

And, in case you weren't aware TFB is a patent attorney and is very familiar with the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act), which governs this topic in the U.S.. He also happens to be one of our legal counsel for the numbered company that owns Hawg Zone.
