I'm not George, but that's a very hard hitting piece, and also very true. I'm against bailouts, and economic "stimulus" too. All things will end, good, and bad. The only reason uncle sam is getting involved is it's an election year IMO

I think we are screwed and the bail out was just the icing on the cake. Talking about a transfer of wealth. Unbelievable what this bunch has done.

We are broke as a nation.

This bunch encouraged our jobs being off shored so we can't afford to buy anything anymore.

Thank God Obama gets it. I am not sure if even he can do anything about it at this point, but at least he gets it. People who don't have a job, can't find a job making enough money to live on, or can't find full time work have a hard time buying things. That is buying mortgages, cars, sandwiches, etc which keep the economy running.

This job situation is getting worst. It is getting worst and people want to argue over whether a autoworker makes $50 and hour or $75 an hour. We need people working and we need them well paid. The only people well paid now days is the greedy CEO's and this bunch talking their lobby money.

The end of an error is nearer by the day.

Signed
Former life long Republican.
But never again!!

Obama is not the savior people seem to think he is, and the Democrats are responsible for all this bailout shit anyway, they are the majority, if they didn't want it, it wouldn't be happening. I'm not a Republican, I'm a Conservative, and we will be back in power one day. If you think Obama is different then why is he going along with this bailout shit? More of the same IMO.......

I am absolutly against bailouts!
If I make bad investments or lend money to losers, that's my tough shit! This is just another give away program that shifts more power to an ever growing bloated government.
Hey, that's part of the democrats philosophy right there. Smacks of fucking socialism to me

How anyone can believe that making more low paying government created jobs with an elevated minimum wage, will help our economy, like the democrats, including Obama do, needs to take an economics 101 course. I lay blame for this bailout SNAFU on the democratic congress and the senate!

Free trade means less tarriffs, no government intervention and no fucking government handouts in the guise of bailout money. You deliver a product for a fair price and if people don't buy it, tough shit, you go under and do something else to earn a living. That is what made America great and is what's missing today!

We have really screwed th pooch now electing a president along with a democratic house and senate. Their redistribution of wealth is anti-american, disquised socialism, and will destroy this country IMO!

WOW my ignorance has run rampant.

I thought Bush, Paulsen, McCain, Gramm, etc ect were Republicans.

Mia Culpa!!

I will research more before wasting your time.

Now I get it why y'all say it is s Democrat problem.

And this Obama has messed up more before taking office than Bush did in 8 years.

I get it now. Thank you so much for enlightening me.

To be quite honest, since this is the pig pen....

It's neither a democrat or Republican problem. The problem arises from the Federal Reserve system. Every dollar bill printed represents one dollar of debt. A debt that cannot ever be repaid. It's all about money, and the Federal Reserve system is getting richer and richer everyday.

In terms of the President, he's just a string on a puppet. He and the rest of congress works for the special interest groups. They are the same people up there now. So, change? Keep the change, Obama is not going to be any different.

The Banks and the Corporate interests that be wouldn't allow for any candidate to make it to the election unless they knew they were someone who will continue their same interests.

The only thing the whole Republican/Democrat fiasco is about is deferring the public's attention to ancillary issues while the government runs rampant.

We've easily come to the point there a revolution is in order. But with 40% or so of our population considered poor and looking for a hand out, there's no one going to revolt.

Surely you can't be serious that Republicans have any blame in this situation Mungo. You do realize there has been a slight Democratic advantage for almost 2 years now. The world has gone to hell in a hand basket in 2 short years. You can't deny that it is all the Democrats fault.

Of course I am kidding. I totally agree with what you say. It is a Washington problem and they all want us to feel we have a choice.

I did always vote Republican because they were supposed to be above the absolute bull shit. These current Republicans have no sense of honor or desire to do the right thing for this country.

You could always count on the democrats to do stupid shit. Now they can't keep up with the Republicans. Oh well the Republicans will be the least of our worries for many years to come.

Thank You Repubs!! RIP!!

I've learned that politics is nothing more than smoke and mirrors to distract people from what's going on behind the curtain.

But, even if you want to look at our bipartisan *joke*, I read a good book not too long ago by Barnard Goldberg, "Crazies to the left of me, whimps to the right" I thought it summed it up well.
