This non-profit Fund was established in 1991 to assist those families with mobilized active duty members of Desert Storm. The Fund was revived in 2003 for the purpose of providing emergency financial assistance to activated Vermont National Guard members and their families. This important event is our way of supporting Vermont National Guard families facing the many financial concerns of active service. The 140-mile ride through some of Vermont's most beautiful countryside. Riders will pass working farms, community centers, the golden dome of the Statehouse in the capital city of Montpelier and even follow the gentle curve of picturesque rivers. The route includes valleys and hilltops and a mid-way break for riders to stretch their legs. Staging begins at 9:30AM and the 140 mile spectacular ride starts at 11:00AM. Coffee and Pastries will be available prior to the start. A $50 donation (or $75 for rider & passenger) includes the ride, commemorative pin, awards/prizes, and a BBQ lunch and band upon return to Gifford Medical Center.
