I rode Spearfish back in 2004 and yes it is a great ride. I would love to do it at a different time of year when there is less traffic. I actually enjoyed all the roads out there, great week of riding.

Didn't make that ride when I went to Sturgis in '05.. but there are many great routes... some of them in and around Custer State Park where I stayed,,, that are just awesome... the State Park doesn't raise their prices for Sturgis week either......

Oh yes I did as a matter of fact.... an as my friend and I returned from Mount Rushmore in the evening,, we came upon a mother and her baby crossin' in front of us - she could have wheeled around an nailed us good but chose not to as we pulled in our clutch an tried to be as quiet as possible as them critters hate loud pipes - then about two to three miles down the road we came up on a herd by the road and in a field abbutin' the road....there was an actual sea of eyes that reflected from the headlight.... crimany we both held our breath as one scooted in front of us an with the road lined with them we were VERY lucky we didn't get charged and hurt..... here's a pic of the spot the next day....we had to go back to see just how lucky we were....plus a picture of our cabin at the Custer State Park.....

I think the funniest thing I saw in Custer was a guy on a Fat Boy tried to pet one of the donkeys on the road and it bit his hand. The look on his face was priceless. We stayed in Wyoming at the Flying V campground in Cambria. Unfortunately all my pics where on 35 mm film so I can't post any at this time. Nice pics by the way.
