Gavin Walker, owner of Harley-Davidson Victoria in Australia is a faithful reader who just informed me that his son Jack, only 20 years old, in an unofficial attempt, just smashed the longest distance jump ever made on a Harley. In February 1971, Evel Knievel set a new world record by jumping 19 cars on his Harley-Davidson XR-750. He held that record for 27 years until Bubba Blackwell jumped 20 cars in 1998, also on an XR- 750. Evel’s record distance was 151 feet (46m) and Bubba managed to jump 157 feet (47.8m).
