Un-like some people I did not post this to offend you at all. This was the world junior hockey tournament held every year starting boxing day. Our boys won gold , Sweden silver, Russia beat USA for bronze.
The goal tender for the Canada played for our local OHL team, London Knights, he won MVP as well as best goal keep.
EDIT: Go up to Speeds post and click on GOLD to read the rest.

Awesome!! Sorry I've been away from the North too long, I played Junior Hockey many years ago, some of the most fun I ever had, I has a Goalie for 10 years. I only played one year after we moved back to Texas. Nobody played here back then, and the competition sucked, so I took my mit and left

OUCH!!!!!!!!!! :bellylaugh:

IMO the Hockey played "way back then" was a lot better brand, bit I may be biased
I LOVE Hockey though, and was so damn thrilled when the North Stars moved here!!! and then for them to win a Lords Stanley Cup in 1999, was one of the biggest thrills I've had in sports viewing, 2nd only to watching the COWBOYS win their 5 Super Bowls

I am not a huge hockey fan, and yes it has changed. Like everything else!
I enjoy seeing the look in these young kids eyes, you can tell how much it means to them. Something that tends to disappear in the big leagues. Might have something to due with the huge pay cheques they get.
