No I don't...I do agree that Belacheck should pull him during a slaughter like last weekend but to intentionally take out a knee or what ever aint right. It is a long process of recovery (speaking from experience) and could even ruin a career. And for a journalist to suggest it is bullshit.

This is a fine line players walk.....every play middle linebackers, linemen, corners etc....hit the opposing team with "Bad INtentions", they would be quite content if the player didn't get back up and left the game, actually more then that, they would wear it as a badge of honour back in the dressing room, and anyone who's says different shouldn't be playing football
Now, suggesting that you do that late in the game, and illigally is where the problem is here. But I will say this, sports are emtional, guys lose their temper. I was playing a high school hockey game back in the day, and the other team was beeting us by a large margin, double rotating their top line in the third period...after about their 7th goal, and the big celebration to follow...I fuckin lost it...sticks were flyin, fists were flyin....it was a fuckin mess.....all illegal, but too MANY understandable My Point? You play with the bull, you may just get the horns, is it right??? Of course is it isn't, but every player in that situation would understand. So where is Billicheck wrong? He's MASSIVE fucking ego, is playing Russian Rullet with Tom Brady, and he should smarten the fuck up...because the Bull will eventually be let out of the pen. |

Grapes Opinion....
"You DON"T run up the score"......"You don't embarrass the other team, or theirs gonna be trouble...." "When we got up 6-1, my third and fourth line played the game out" A smart coach in the NFL, would do the same in the 4th Quarter whe the game is outta reach....your asking for trouble...right or wrong, troubles comin, eventually" http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/hnic/coach.html Go to Oct 15th, 2005 |

There is no honor in purposely trying to injure an opponent at any stage of the game and anybody who says so has no integrity whatsoever. Good honest hard hits are part of the game and so are the repercussions, but taking a cheap shot at somebody (as advocated by the asshole in the referenced article) is a cowardly thing to do.
Direct from the article: "he would actually go so far as to say that he'd actually take a cheap shot at Patriots quarterback Tom Brady if he were on the other team. " SM |

Your point is well taken...and I agree to some degree.....I always new I shouldn't be playing sports LOL
Maybe that's why I have been suspended from every sport I ever played LOL Speed you know I tell it straight up, and to be honest, I have tried to hurt guys...MANY times, hell I'm just being honest...I hated my competition, no other word could apply. More over every time I hit someone, hockey, football, rugby I wanted to hurt them....cause I believed they wanted to hurt me, and did so many times. I wasn't a cheap shot artist, but I did cross the boundry of fair play many times when instigated. Someone gave me a reason, like running up the score, I took it personal, and the rule book went out the window. But I never went after someones knee's, or hit from behind or shit like that... You would of liked my older brothers speach at my wedding, he eloquantly explained my version of sports "rules"...i had a reputation that preceded me, the guy you didn't want to play against, but would love to play with....but his story about chasing referee's around the field etc, were not true honest LMFAO!!! Now it is true that my own Uncle wrote a letter to the school board saying I should never play organized sports again<BG> I hope this doesn't lower your opinion of me LOL |

I teach my guys to play hard, play to win and deliver the hardest legal hit they can. On the rare occasion that one of my players has delivered a cheap shot I have removed them from our program - permanently.
As a coach I have zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike behavior. Our team is undefeated in our league in 13 seasons. We have won our regional championship 12 years in a row and if we win this coming Saturday that will make 13 in a row. Not surprisingly all of the other teams are always gunning for us, but they show us respect because we play a very clean game. I have absolutely no problem with players giving 100% - as a matter of fact I demand it from my squad. I tell first year seniors that football is not a contact sport - it's a collision sport - and if they want to play a contact sport go take dancing lessons. However, I also tell them that if they play dirty they will be kicked off the team - simple as that. SM |
