New stadium gets Dallas 2011 Super Bowl

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 22, 2007) -- The 2011 Super Bowl will be played at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium in Arlington, Texas. Indianapolis and Arizona also bid for the game.

Stay tuned to NFL.com later today for a live press conference from Nashville in which NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wraps up the owners meetings.

NFL owners voted for the North Texas group, which had Hall of Famer Roger Staubach lobbying on its behalf. The Cowboys' $1 billion stadium seats more than 100,000 and will open in 2009. It has about 27,000 more seats than the other stadiums involved.

thats one damn big stadium! by the time you throw in the shopping mall and amusement park that are planned it will be it's own city and need it's own zip code.

Its going to be a huge cluster fuck IMO .. 'cause we got no real mass transit, the crime rate in Arlington is the worst in the metroplex, the highways are already choked to the max, they dont even have enough cops to control that size crowd .. blah, blah... LOL

On the other hand, all of our favorite hangouts will likely have some kick ass parties

Actually its closer to Mustangs but yea I saw this and agree the traffic will be a biotch ... I wonder if they plan on redoing the roads in that area cause I'll avoid it like the plague until they do ...

Actually they will be using the "T" train running from FW. The are already, of course, re-doing I-30 and they will be kicking off tearing down the entire Divison Street bridge to re-do it & they say they will be extending the DART rail or using a like kind rail system by 2009.

Of course, Bell Helicopter has authorized the use [for VIPs only] of 22 Commercial Raptors ..
