Softail the S&S one is straight not cone shaped ,but the "teeth" inside are the same as your pic. Great idea you have there. 8)

That is an awesome piece of work, and the skill required to design and build something like that speaks volumes about you. Keep us appraised about the dyno and if you get them, the decibel level. The balance of the two oughta prove interesting. Good luck on your endeavor.

Yup, so does the Rinehart. It is a silencer design used in many apps like Glass packs on cars (Chery Bombs)

Sorry I took so long to get back to you all. I put it all together last Saturday. I have not had any time to do any tuning yet. On the way home that night, I needed to pass a truck. I down shifted from 4th to 3rd and as I went out for the pass, the back tire broke loose at 40 in third. The bike never did that before. Yeah 1st and 2nd all the time, but not third.
I rode it 2 days later. Me and a friend went for a little run. He had some serious issues with the noise of the pipes. This bike was not all the sneaky before, but now is way to friggin loud. So, back to the drawing board for me and the pipe. (At least the silencer part)
I had plans on going to the dyno this w/e, but that has to wait until next or next next w/e.

I have a new internal meg that just showed up, and a different end cap getting made. I will make a tighter baffle that can be wrapped with fiberglass and take both to the dyno. It might take a few weeks, but I will be back with an update. Promise.

I can say that the bike feels a lot faster now, but also way, way louder. So, no tuning until I get the baffle changed to the quieter version.

The plan is to have a pipe that works real good for most bolt on apps , but not perfect for all. If a person wants perfect for their app, then they will need to provide all their motor specs, and I will be building them a custom one off like the one I am building for me.
If you only knew how jealous I was. Just knowing what to do to design a muffler. Or the ability to actually make something like that.
Ditto what Mungo said!! Having that knowledge and skill is awsome.

I am in search of that "Retirement" deal too.

I can market and sell it!!!! Speedy may have to find us some hotties at Bike Week to help the display photos!!
Would you like to make a business plan?
