OK, I've been wondering. I thought I understood the "Stage" upgrades on Harley's. Does anyone have a definitive definition of these different stages?
i.e. Stage I = Air cleaner, pipes, EFI Remap/Carb Rejet Stage II = Cams Stage III = big bore kit etc... I've heard different definitions for two and three, plus it seems I've heard mention of higher stages? |

Mungo, it depends on who you are talking to.... So many variations,
Stage 1 is usually jetting in carb bikes, downoad in EFI bikes, upgrade air intake, and pipes. This is pretty standard. Stage 2 is usually cams and next larger inch kit. Obviously with more jetting or EFI mapping as well. Stage 3 is usually larger cams again, serious head work, and whatever your pocketbook will stand... IE: roller rockers, larger oil pump, case bearings, larger throttle bodies, etc... Let me remind you that this all differs as to whom you are talking to. IMHO  |

Sounds like one of those deals where if I have to ask how much, I damn sure can't afford it!
![]() Excellent thread! I knew what stage 1 was but not the rest! Thanks!
