I don't know if OPEC has anything to do with it or not but something is definately going on around here. I recieved a text from a friend telling me to stop and fill on my way home because gas would be up $1.50 a gal by tomorrow. Many stations now have signs posted stating you can only by 10 gal at a time now. Prices here have gone up 25 to 30 cents a gallon since this morning.

What the hell is going on?????

Our gas is already shooting up but its specifically due to the hurricane. Since they have to shut down all the refineries, rigs, etc. & get all them folks out of there -- unfortunately they pass it all on straight to us at the distributor level

And yet crude oil is down to $100 a barrel. Go figure.

Exactly, so why are we looking at $1.50 increase by morning. I just got off the phone with Lane. Several stations here in town are now out of gas. He said the lines are the same in Chattanooga also. This is Bizarre. I have enough in the bike for 100 miles. Thats a few weeks of back and forth to work. We will see what happens but at least I have that covered for now.

I just got off the phone with Lane too. He said it is chaos at the pumps right now with people on the verge of fighting over fuel.

Check out www.gasbuddy.com or for TN specifically www.tennesseegasprices.com.

Last year at this time a barrel of oil was ~ $100.00 a barrel. Today it is the same. The average price per gallon in Chattanooga right now is $3.60. Last year at this time it was $2.66.

Like I said - go figure.
