Tallahassee.com reports that John Lovell, a 71-year-old former U.S. Marine, shot two armed robbers at a Subway store in Plantation, Florida. According to the police statement, "The victim believed he would be executed and when he noticed [the criminals] distracted ... reached behind his back, removed his loaded .45 caliber handgun from his holster and fired seven rounds," One suspect was killed and the other suffered critical injuries. Lovell holds a valid concealed weapons permit and is not expected to be charged in the shooting. Many people are calling Lovell a hero.
