me either Red! still have my luxman direct drive table with stax tone arm and ortofon mm stylus. Got lots of vinyl in mint condition. it freaks out my kids friends when they hear it play. lol they really can't believe the cover art compared to cds.

the best cd systems can almost compete though CD has come a long way. i run a Cal Audio Labs transport through a Theta DAC with a vampire wyre digital connect and it sounds GOOD . 3d soundstage and warm tones with killer bottom and crisp highs. not shreiky at all.

rest of system Biamped - Marsh audio labs on top and Muse Audio on bottom for amps; Dunlavy audio labs spkrs, adcom preamp, mit biwire cables ...yep audio is another one of my expensive hobbies. I just can't stomach ipods or mp3s for serious listening, but see how they could be good to carry your whole collection on a road trip lol
