HARLEY-DAVIDSON FOUNDATION PLEDGES $1 MILLION TO DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS IN SUPPORT OF MOBILE SERVICE OFFICES PROGRAM

The Harley-Davidson Foundation has pledged $1 million to Disabled American Veterans (DAV). The pledge will support the DAV program Mobile Service Offices (MSOs) which provide in-community benefits counseling and education to veterans of all ages about benefits available from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The program will include a tour that will position the DAV MSOs at locations around the country including participating Harley-Davidson dealerships, offering DAV benefits and counseling services to veterans in communities where they live. The tour stops will also help DAV bring awareness to additional veteran service programs including employment assistance, DAV Homeless Initiative, hospital transportation services and transition counseling.

The Tour will officially begin March 5-7, 2007 as part of Daytona Bike Week. The DAV MSO will be based outside at the Daytona Ocean Convention Center located in the Harley-Davidson display area.

The Harley-Davidson Foundation, Inc. was established in 1993 to support the communities in which Harley-Davidson has facilities and employees. The majority of the Foundation's investments are in the areas of education and community revitalization with funds also supporting programs in arts and culture, health, the environment and national veteran's initiatives.
