Tina and I made it home last night after a long road trip. We headed out last Thursday for Dallas/Fort Worth. Had to stop in Monroe, LA due to heavy rain and wind but we rolled into Fort Worth on Friday. Partied like rock stars all weekend with great friends and met up with a bunch of local folks from Texas. It was great seeing all of you again. We rolled out on Sunday and headed north into Oklahoma and met up with Head Doc and crashed at his place. Managed to kill a couple of bottles of George Dickel and even got in a short ride on Monday. Thanks again Head Doc. Major storms prevented our direct route back to TN so we headed due south on some back roads and missed the entire storm. Turning east we wound up on the east side of Shreveport LA. Head Doc's brother, Pat, met us there and led the way to his house. Once we got there there was a feast waiting for us. That man knows his way around a grill. After multiple cold adult beverages we passed out knowing that Wednesday was going to be a long day. When we woke up, we discovered that all of the rain that we thought we were going to be riding in had gone away. Thanking Pat for the hospitality, we headed for home. Lots of sunshine and 630 miles and 11 1/2 hours later, we made it home. Total mileage 2370 miles. What a beautiful country we live in. Ride safe my friends.

It was really great to see everyone in TX. I enjoyed hanging out with old friends and meeting folks I feel like I've known forever. It was just a fabulous journey. This was among one of the longer rides I've had the pleasure of doing and I loved every minute of it. Heated gear is the bomb for travel in late October. I have decided I'm going to send Lane to spend a couple of weeks with HeadDoc and Pathfinder. Wow those men can cook. I'll call it the culinary school of the Stinnett Brothers. LOL I wore a mask almost the entire journey but my face is beat red from the wind burn. It just make this big ol grin shine even more. Thank you to Head Doc and Pathfinder for putting up 2 road weary travelers. You made it all fun. GGG, Texas Red, Fatboy05, MS Betty, and Piff thank you for hauling us around this weekend. It was great to see you all. It was a cool surprise to see Hells and the Mrs. along with Curly and Linda. It blew my mind that we passed Curly and Linda on the road on the way in. Now that we have finally met that won't happen again. I'll be honking and grinning if we see yall in the future. It was great to get to share a brew with Speedman, BlackpealUltra and Swiney.
You are all great folks and I feel very honored to call you all my friends. Ride safe and remember your always welcome in TN just come on and lets ride. |
