Border Patrol.. Protecting Borders or Violating rights?

We went on the trip last week and quite a bit of riding was done in the Big Bend National Park area of Texas down by the Rio Grande.

Did you know how many Border Patrol checkpoints they are in that area? How many total Border Patrol employees? How many dogs you are paying for?

Did you know the many of the checkpoints stop you as much as 100 miles from the Border? Did you know they have the right to search you any time they want at a Border Patrol checkpoint?

Did you also know that 99% of the time ALL THEY ASK is "Are you a US citizen"?

That's it. No f*ing ID, no nothing are you a US citizen?

Why is that legal to stop 100% of the people 100 miles in to search them and/or ask "Are you a US Citizen?"

I won't elaborate, but the dogs are worthless if they are there to detect herb/guns. Maybe they don't put them to work unless they pull you out I don't know?? They are right there, like inches away from saddle bags. SHIT!! REAL CLOSE!! LOL

I say it is more or a rights violation than a deterrent to illegal immigration 100 miles from the Border. We went through 4 different ones some multiple times.

I could even go for it better if I had to show an ID and then the "I can search any and all that go through there" piece goes away if I am a US Citizen. Just... "Are you a US citizen?"

Years ago when I ran Team for Coca-Cola they made me get out of the sleeper to verify I wasn't an illegal, and that I was the only one in the sleeper. I told the Lady I was naked, then climbed out, Lucky for her I wasn't fat back then, but she was embarrassed I have 2 Uncle's that were on the B.P., they are very handcuffed in what they can do, one has since retired, the other joined another Uncle to work with the Texas Rangers, they aren't very handcuffed at all
Any job having to do with our Government will always be a joke IMO
