That's the question. We have a long trip scheduled. At this point the weather is looking cold and wet. I have a heated jacket liner. I would really like to wear it for this trip but I am concerned that the rain may be a contraindication with the gear. I don't have a rain gear jacket. I usually just wear my leather jacket. I have a light weight rain type jacket liner that could be used but is really ineffective by itself and there is no way it would keep the water off the heated liner at the neck or bottom portion.
Would getting the heated gear wet damage the liner or cause injury to me? Thanks for your help. |

Hey Mom's
I would get a good rain suit that closes tight around the neck. Your leathers won't keep the water out. I don't own any heated gear but would imagine that it would not like to get wet. I would e-mail the manufacturer and ask them. Since these clothes are designed to be close to your skin I would hope there is protection built into them for such conditions. |

Not to worry if your heated gear (gerbings) gets wet
Gerbing's Heated Clothing // Frequently Asked Questions This question is on the top of the list. Use Gergings, gloves, heated jacket and pants liner and just completed a 1000 miles trip around Washington State, temps dipped into the 20's, great gear. |
