Default What have you done.............

to get ready for riding season? Ha got you! You thought I was going to fuss or be nasty.

I know many of you ride year round but there are still plenty of us who don't have the opportunity. What upgrades, mods or repairs have you done to get her ready to go on the road?

I've been on the scoot less than 10 times this year, weather has been very odd this year here too

I have booked several bike trips for the spring and summer. So far that's all I have done to get ready for this season, which actually started in December for me.

Cheers,

Speed

Nothing so far this year. The puppy has us grounded still from any serious riding. The bike is ready for any 2 hour ride we can throw at it. LOL

In addition to the normal fluid changes, including fork oil, and making sure everything is adjusted to the right tension etc, I’ve done, or getting ready to do the following to my bikes this off season (and yes, I ride year round depending upon road conditions):

-Had a new set of gear driven cams put in the Standard (FXST). Also looking into bumping it up to 96ci and painting the rest of the engine black. Changed out ignition wires (long over due).

-Changed out the electronic ignition to a Scream’n Eagle version, and added an external oil cooler to the Heritage (FLXTCI). Looking into gear driven cams for it as well. Maybe next off-season.

-Added Power Commander ignition system. Looking into kuryakyn passenger foot pegs, in addition to external oil cooler for Ultra Classic (FLHTCI).

As far as rides, still looking into that. Going to stick mainly to the Northwest this summer. A few rides to the coast, and the Puget Sound area, and possibly a ride to Canada (still looking into passport requirements etc on that one). But after all the trips I took last summer (about 11,000 miles total) figured it was time to lay back a bit this summer.

Thanks, I hadn't heard anything recent, and the last time I checked with the US border folks I couldn't get a strait answer.
