Default New to HD

So I've been waiting and waiting for HD to become the normal airwave signal for some time now but I think Im about ready to dive into it ..

Im curious what people that have HD have to say about the available Tv's and the available services ..

Iv'e researched a bit and narrowed it down to a couple of options that fit my price range ..

Im looking at getting a 42 " Lcd Sony Widescreen with 16:9 ratio and 1080 Dpi and its running around 1800 bucks at the moment .. Im also considering picking up a DirectTv package that offers 150 channels (85 Hd and up to 100 by years end ) for $29.99 a month for the first 12 months and then it goes up to $39.99 a month ..

Anyone have something comparable to this and have positive or negative replies ? I'm not in a hurry and thinking about doing this around March when I get my bonus from work ..

Default Re: New to HD

We have just recently got more HD in our area and I have to tell you it is the best for watching sports and movies. I don't have the new generation of 1080p or what ever the best is now but I for one believe it is worth the extra money. Technology changes so fast that the TV of today will be half the price 6 months from now. Being 45 yrs. old I believe that my eyes can only see so well. So on that point I would buy based on the longevity of the unit. Our 43" rear projection is just fine for me. jmho
