Default 1996 sporty electrical question

OK - So I'm a little lost. The search didn't answer my questions and my sporty manual is gone - can't find it anywhere. New one is on order but I'd really like to get this done today.

All help would be appreciated. Using a very basic diagram to do this new re-wire job on a 1996 sporty.

Question 1 - a little silly, but the negative at the headlight - can I connect it to the tree to frame ground to save having an extra wire run under the tank all the way to the tail section?

Big Question 2 - All I really need is an actual pic of a starter wired up to go. I'm a dumbass and can not visually create the wiring to the starter from the diagram. I know the positive from the battery goes to the big post, but what wire comes from the small screw post on the starter and which wire comes from the little clip located on the bottom of the solenoid.

If it helps, I'm running an auto style switch to start, I bypassed the BAS, and I'm running a 98 ignition module (nose cone) to get rid of the separate module (left side seat) they used on the 96.

thanks

Still fighting with the dealership - I have a warranty that I believe is still good - they deny it. The accidentally agreed with me Friday, but today say no go - they were wrong, and my warranty is expired. It's a fight.

Textbook Dealership warranty nightmare you hear so much about.
