While doing my winter maintenance I decide to flush my brake fluid and replace with new DOT4 fluid. I noticed quite a bit of contaminates in the fluid so I decided to take the calipers apart to clean and put in new seals. I figured it was a little pre-mature for a full rebuild but what the hell. That is until I found one of the rear seals had been installed wrong at the factory and looked like this.......

Looks like the piston grabbed the seal when they installed it. I didn't see any sign of assembly lube in that one and that is probably why. There was a small amount of seepage at that caliper as well.

BP when you reinstall the puck with the new o-ring be sure to lube it with some brake fluid before you install so it won't end up the same way... :smile:
