I was looking at buying one of the 3 replacements for my Fatboy, it says all I have to do is unscrew the old one, and clip the new one in its place................But I doubt it is that easy, ahs anyone else done this, if so whats really involved??? and how hard is it to get the dealer to reset your mileage, or should I say How much??

It is "plug and Play". They set the mileage when you order it....

I actually just did this for my '04 Night Train.

Tell Kagan your mileage, and it comes ready to plug up. And yeah, it's really that easy. There is some fumbling with screws and connectors, so Fatboy, may you can get someone to come over and help?

But, with the exception of having to look down, it is by far the best option in my book for adding a tachometer.

It's one of the few Harley accessories hat actually go on the bike as easy as the instructions say.

However, what year is you Fatboy? Only the '07s have a wide variety of styles. Earlier bike just have a choice in the nostalgic or the orginal styling.

For a little paint protection, when you lift the dash up put a bath towel or what ever down to cover the tank while performing the swap...

I was wondering how the old one came off, haven't gotten that far yet, but I will always have to have supervision, especially lately, my temper is getting bad again, like when I was in my 20's  Don't want to throw the new one against anything  MsBetty says I need medication, I'm hoping it's just the Elections
