Default Rear fender/where to get new one and how to install??

The insurance money is in, now where to get a new fender and how to change it??.
Don't really want to spend the high harley dollars, but need new rear fender for 05 Heritage Soft tail, white with blue pearl.
If the rear tire does not need to come off I am sure I can do it myself, but Harley claims the rear tire has to come off to replace the fender...Is this so??
Also thinking of going with digital rear lights---any ideas folks?

Rear tire indeed does need to come off to change the fender. If you want the paint to match right, buy the Harley fender...

If you ain't in no hurry to find the fender, you might check e-bay. I see lots of fenders come through there. Some of em are perfect condition that I guess are off wrecked bikes that are parted out.

i cant place the web site yet( it's early and i'm at work) but there is a website that has a connection to most salvage yards across the country. they mite be able to find you a fender pretty quick. do a google on mc salvage and sooner or later you'll find the one that is hooked up nationwide.
