Was that WITH the purchase of new tires?!?!?

We had 2 new tires [that we bought from Kagan] mounted & balanced here in Bedford for $165!

Wow. $60.00 a tire at my dealer and that includes them taking the tires off the bike, removing the old rubber, installing the new rubber, balancing the tires and reinstalling them.

that was including the tires. i thought i'd try some metzlers this time around. they want $110 for the front, $140 for the rear and i'm assuming there are a couple tubes and liners in there too. i think he said it was $80 each just for the mounting and balance.

I was a Metzeler fan for years until the last set I had went bad. The rear sidewall was so soft you could poke your finger through it and the tire only had 500 miles on it. I had a wicked speed wobble that was the result of the bad tire hence it being pulled off with so few miles on it.

I went back to Avon, which I hadn't used in years and they are way better now than they were in the early 90s.

I'm pretty sure Ram just picked up front and rear Avons for just over a hundred bucks each.

Yup, I got a 150 rear and a 130 front. 126 bucks for the rear and i think 100 for the front. Avon Venom X. I ordered them from Cyclespot.com

i've considered the venom x but i've been warned that i'll probable only get half the milage out of them. thats why i wanted to go metzler this time around and compare the the milage and handling. i may end up ordedring tires and finding a indy here that can mount them up cheaper until i figure out if i can swing a machine for myself. what little looking i've done so far is $500 and up for a complete set up.

I got 10,000 out of my last venom x rear tire. Mileage was good in my opinion.

I can't imagine anyone wanting that kinda cash for tires you are buying from them
Hell, I got 10,000 out of my original rear Dunlop, even with my fatass on it
I have always run Metzeler's, I Love them, and until I get a bad one, I'll keep running them.
