Default EVO ISSUE

1993 FatBoy, S&S Carb, Hyoercharger, running mint, and then all of a sudden, 3, 4, or 5 gears, once I'm up to spead I try to give it gas and it hesitates/sputters...Had the same problem last year and it was a bad plug wire...

Any ideas??

What do you mean sputters...like it's starving gas? or losing electrics??

Just a thought without knwoing much of the situation, but remember the bike vibrates a helluva lot more in 3rd 4th and 5th gear...meanning if you have a lose connection any where along the circut, it may worsen at the higher speeds.

This is 101, but check your battery connections first, I'm sure you've all ready done that....it really sounds like something lose??

Thanks for you response Mike, l had already checked the battery connections, checked to see if the seat was pinching the vent hose, checked the plugs and plug wires(all good). Took it for another ride, it was like it was starving for fuel....

This morning I was getting ready to dump the fuel and check the carb float bowl and the petcock screen(pingel petcock)......

I mentioned that it has a Hypercharger, seems there is a vacum hose connected to the back of the hypercharger, it must have vibrated lose, plugged it back on, went around the block, ran mint...

Man these EVO'S vibrate lol

Thanks Fubar, I am just about to take her out for a longer ride, I've heard a few bad things about the Kuryakan Hypercharger, anyone else heard anything?

Swyney, I've heard this debated before...the majority of wrenches I know say they are not worth it....why?

They preform better on the Dyno(no air resistance), then on the hyw....the air is forced in(on Hyw), you know like the "Ram" effect of the old muscle cars, but on these it's forced in, and then out the rear instead of into the carb, it actually can force air out!!
Because of this I've heard of flat spots at highway speeds. Oil is another issue that comes up, drippin and blowin and shit...but that's a simple fix...don't have your oil level maxed out.

Anyways, they look good, but there actual preformance is debatable at best...much better proven winners out there, who recieve no debate at all..JMO
