Ken Ward of South Tetagouche was presented an authentic Harley Davidson watch last month during an event for bikers and the general public, held at the South Tetagouche property of Robert Payne. The presentation was made by Louis Bertin, representing Alain Roy of Rimouski Harley Davidson in Rimouski, Que., who donated the watch. The gift of the watch was in recognition of Mr. Ward being the oldest Harley enthusiast in the local area who is still riding. At 88, he continues to enjoy outings on his 1982 King of the Road Harley Davidson. The presentation took place during an event billed as Payne's Party featuring Woofstock, a get-together organized on Aug. 28 to 30 as a fundraiser by Mr. Payne to help out the Bathurst Animal Shelter/Gloucester SPCA. A total of $1,700 was raised for the SPCA, and Mr. Payne and other volunteers involved wish to thank everyone for their support, and say they hope to see everyone back next year.
