Toney Stacey Centre Ride
We'll the weather was no deterrant....Saturday called for 70% chance of showers, and thunderr & lightening looming. Even still we has 5 sepearte CAV units ride into Toronto to support us from as far away as Ottawa(5 hour ride), in combination with the local community, it was a helluva a successful day.
All fo the proceeds went to the Toney Stacey Centre...this is one of the onlny if not the only Veterans care vacility in North America, who allow Veterans to finsh out their years with their families, in the same facility...giving them the diginity they more then deserve.
I've come to form life long bonds with the gentlemen you will see in the pictures, residents of the Stacey Centre. My little buddy Chad(12 yrs old) told me when I led in the parade of bikes in their honour, there wasn't a dry eye among them.
We lined up and every rider shook there hands and thanked them for there service to our country.
I, for the first time, got meet Jan De Vries, a WWII paratrooper, who was a part of the Normandy invasion. I have been reading about Jan, and watching him on TV, for MANY years...what an honour, you have no idea what that meant to me. The words of encouragement Jan spoke to me, was something that will last with me forever.
As promised here are some pics
