Default Hard to be a Veteran

Sorry guys, I have to deal with the death of one of our Soldier again tonight. And tomorrow I have to assist the repatriation of the Soldier from Afghanistan and its a French Canadian from Valcartie, but the kids his from Longueil not far away where I come from, So its a long night for me..

I served with the Vendoos in 1993 in Bosnia and tonight I just had a lot of flash back and remember some really bad shit, and the lost of one of our Soldier just break my heart tonight, because that remind me when I was in Bosnia around this time and I lost a guy that I new and that I was playing hockey against, that guy was a big, strong man but what a big teddy bear, see him d....g... like that on the stretcher was a heart broken for me, I could believe that this guy will finish his life like that, he was such a gentleman for his size and he was such a real positive man, a real one, like you do not meet every conner of every street..Hope you know what I mean . Hope he rest in peace by now. And my Prayer and Tough are with the family of Pte Longtin of the R22R...

Sorry but I had to tell someone, and it fall on you guys tonight, thanks for reading or listening....Love you all

Reg

Hell Reg, I'm honoured you chose this place to share your thoughts and feelings, these soldiers are gone but will never be forgotten.
It doesn't matter what words I choose to try and console you at this time of great loss, they all just seem inadequate, but know, from my heart and everyone else on this forum, we are firmly in your corner.

Fubar is right. I don't know you personally, but nevertheless I feel for you and for this brave soldier's family. Hang in there!

I could not have said it any better. Choose the Zone as a place to seek consolation or to just let it out whenever you want Reg - we're honored to have you amongst us.

I could not have said it any better then Fubar. It was an honour to meet you this summer and have you as a guest at our house. I would like to say I feel your pain ...but I can not begin to imagine. It is with a heavy heart to say I am sorry for your loss and you will always find friends here.
