Default First Annual Lauren Gillie Ride Saturday June 30th, 2007

LOCATION: The Village Pump highway 62 south Rossmore Plaza, Prince Edward County.

START TIME: 11:00am gathering, kick stands up at 12 noon.

FINISH TIME: 5:00pm back at the Village Pump for supper.

Join BikerTV.ca, the Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle units and riders from across North America in raising funds for 6 year old Lauren Gillie of Rednersville who was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

There is no set fee to participate in this event, but donations will be accepted throughout the day for the Gillie family.

If you cannot attend the ride donations can still be made on-line.

FIRST LEG:

- Gas up at the Petro Canada station at the Rossmore Plaza.

- Exit the Village Pump parking lot, highway 62 south to County Road 14 (Demorestville Road). 13.0 kms / 8.1 miles.

- Left on County Road 14 (Demorestville Road) to Demorestville. 9.5 kms / 5.9 miles.

- Left at the stop sign on to North Port Road heading towards North Port and highway 49. 15.7 kms / 9.7 miles.

- Left on highway 49 over the Bay of Quinte Bridge to Maracle's Mohawk Centre. 3.2 kms / 2.0 miles.

- 20 minute break. Snacks available at the convenience store. Bikes with small gas tanks should top up.

- End of the first leg. Approximate time 1:00pm when departing Maracle's.

SECOND LEG:

- Left on highway 49 over the Bay of Quinte Bridge to North Port Road. 3.2 kms / 2.0 miles.

- Right on North Port Road to County Road 35. 0.4 kms / 0.25 miles.

- Right on County Road 35 to under the bridge to highway 49. 7.5 kms / 4.7 miles.

- Left on highway 49 to McFarland Street in Picton at the hospital. 13.0 kms / 8.1 miles.

- Right on McFarland Street to MacSteven Street. 0.4 kms / 0.25 miles.

- Left on MacSteve Street to Johnson Street. 1.1 kms / 0.7 miles.

- Right on Johnson Street to County Road 34. 1.5 kms / 0.9 miles.

- Left on County Road 34 to County Road 4. 1.2 kms / 0.75 miles.

- Left on County Road 4, through Picton to County Road 22. 4.6 kms / 2.9 miles.

- Left on County Road 22 to the decommissioned CFB Air Force base. 1.7 kms / 1.1 miles.

- Right into the Air Force base to the white building on the left. 0.3 kms / 0.2 miles.

- 20 minute break. Group photo with the old barracks in the background. Portable toilet on-site.

- End of the second leg. Approximate time 2:00pm when departing the Air Force base.

THIRD LEG:

- Back to County Road 22. 0.3 kms / 0.2 miles.

- Right on County Road 22 to Union Street. 1.8 kms / 1.2 miles.

- Left on Union Street to Bridge Street (highway 33). 0.3 kms / 0.2 miles.

- Right on Bridge Street (highway 33) to County Road 7 (Lake On The Mountain Road). 7.8 kms / 4.8 miles.

- Right on County Road 7 (Lake On The Mountain Road, which turns into County Road 8 at Cressy) to County Road 13. 37.5 kms / 23.25 miles.

- Left on County Road 13 towards Black River Cheese (stay to the left at the Mitchell side road) to County Road 16. 4.3 kms / 2.7 miles.

- Right on County Road 16 to County Road 17. 1.3 kms / 0.8 miles.

- Left on County Road 17 to County Road 10 (stay to the right when passing through Milford). 5.0 kms / 3.1 miles.

- Right on County Road 10 to County Road 18 in Cherry Valley. 6.3 kms / 3.9 miles.

- Left on County Road 18 to County Road 12. 11.1 kms / 6.9 miles.

- Left on County Road 12 (stay to the right at the park entrance) to County Road 12 park bypass. 0.7 kms / 0.4 miles.

- Right on County Road 12 to Lake Shore Lodge Road at the Sandbanks entrance. 2.9 kms / 1.8 miles.

- Left on Lake Shore Lodge Road to the site where the lodge once was. 1.2 kms / 0.75 miles.

- 20 minute break. Group photo with Lake Ontario in the background.

- End of the third leg. Approximate time 4:00pm when departing Lake Shore Lodge.

FOURTH LEG:

- Exit Lake Shore Lodge, through the 4 way stop at the Sandbanks entrance, through West Lake, to highway 33 in Bloomfield. 13.2 kms / 8.2 miles.

- Left on highway 33 to the junction of highway 33 and highway 62. 0.4 kms / 0.25 miles.

- Left on highway 33 through Wellington, through Consecon to County Road 3 (Rednersville Road). 37.3 kms / 23.2 miles.

- Right on County Road 3 (Rednersville Road) back to the Village Pump. 19.3 kms / 12.0 miles.

- End of the fourth and final leg. Approximate arrival time 5:00pm.

TOTAL DISTANCE:

~ 230 kms / 140 miles.

FUEL:

The gas guage on my bike with a 5 gallon tank shows 3/8 of a tank after the complete run.

Everybody who wishes to show their support for the Gillies is welcome to join us at 8:00pm for the main event in Rednersville where Zed Head will be entertaining the crowd with live music.

Reg was the first person to get the flyer. We did the colour one together while he was here on Saturday. He is going to print some off and distribute them around the area. Very nice guy.

He knows about Hawg Zone.

I'll see how my move goes on Friday took afternoon off to pack and clean more LOL and worked for hour or so just taking quick break. Sounds like a good ride will keep it in mind. I need an oil change real bad. I can't believe the riding I'm getting in. Sat we did almost 400 kms then yesterday up to orillia not even sure how many we did I'm guessing between 250-300 I imagine. All in all a great weekend What time u guys leaving on Sun

Sounds like a great route Chris. Are you going to print out maps for this or just use the directions? Will it be an escorted ride or just casual in groups?
