Warm weather brings many motorcycles out of winter storage but in June hundreds of them are expected in Thunder Bay for a summer tradition.

Thursday marked the official launch of the 7th Annual Motorcycle Ride for Dad, an event which has raised over $350,000 in the city for prostate cancer in the past. President of the Northern Cancer Research Foundation, Glenn Craig says the dollars raised stay right here in the community, supporting three different areas: education, patient care, and research. However he says the event isn't just about the money.

The event will also include the famous 'roar for the cure kick start', along with a parade of motorcycles, and prizes. The Motorcycle Ride for Dad will be held on June 16 and pre-registration takes place this Saturday at Halfway Motors between 11 and 3 p.m.

Best Hand wins $300.00, 2nd. Best Hand wins $200.00 and 3rd. Best Hand wins $100.00. Even the stinko Worst Hand takes home $100.00. All prize money is sponsored so all registration money collected goes to Ovarian Cancer research at LHSC.
