Default busted heatshield bracket

bigshot staggereds... front heat shield ...second bracket from the head ... the clamp goes through the bracket and around the exhaust pipe but the bracket inside the heatshield cracked and broke off. makin a hella bad racket now. can the bracket be welded back on the inside of the heatshield with out screwing up the chrome? I can put a clamp on the outside of the heatshield but that is pretty fugly. any other ideas for a fix appreciated...or do I have to spring for a new heatshield because of one busted bracket? lol

Brazing (not sure on spelling) might hold it. Not as strong as a weld but would prob do less damage to the chrome. Just an idea....

I would try JB Weld first since it won't cost you much time, or money. If that doesn't work I would just buy a new heat shield.

You would definately screw up your chrome if you weld it.

ok here's my latest thoughts. new heatshield costs 170.00 that's a no go. stainless steel zip tie around the outside of the pipe and shield ...ugly! or wrap exhaust pipe where bracket busted with fiberglass heat packing until heat shield is tight against it, secure with zip tie ..reinstall shield. or spend 600 for a new 2:1 of some sort. ... not compatible with buying a new streetglide this year. so wrapping the pipe it is!

I would try Chris's idea with the JB Weld first Terry. It's some amazing shit!
