Default So Remind me...

Mrs. BP and I where out for a ride last night and we stoped to check out some new boots for her. Well during the ride home with them her heel was resting on my rear pipe and her boots got broke in on the pipe , How is it you get that shit off the pipes again? I want to make sure she does it right

Acetone works okay if there isn't a huge mound of rubber. If so, hit it with oven cleaner first then acetone.

I've tried that many times, and it has never worked for me, Sherrie must not have been doing something right

I have also heard of the oven cleaner trick. Just make damn sure you don't get any on your paint or you will be sorry.

I had that problum with my old ironhead sportster. She was old and ugly and Id just scrape it off with a buck knife. I wont be trying that on my new ride though. Sure glad I read this thread. I just bolted on a set of drag pipes and there are no heat shields on them. I know its just a matter of time before I need to clean 'em.

I've had a lot of luck with plain old Turtle Wax Chrome Polish too.
My sporty had drag pipes with no heat shields on em and were always getting shit melted on the pipes.
The oven cleaner trick works real well for the real stubborn ones. Even gets melted rain suits off the chrome
