I received a touching note from Carri Lelievre-Heitz of Salinas. She was so moved by the stories her cousin —Chris Lelievre-Moag from Hollister — told regarding her experiences while visiting veterans at the hospital in the Veteran’s Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System that she wanted to share.Chris Lelievre-Moag has joined her brother-in-law James Serasio, a member of the Patriot Guards Motorcycle Club, for their annual motorcycle rides to the hospital. The experience has left her feeling humble and with a memory that she will never forget.
Since 1989, the Patriot Guard Motorcycle Club, along with other extraordinary bike groups, have helped raise spirits and offered support to veterans at the hospital. Chris recalls her visit in 2008 that raised her appreciation for our men and women in uniform.

Even if Harley-Davidson decides to keep its local vehicle assembly operations in York County, the company would likely cut hundreds of workers in addition to cuts already made this year.
Noncore production, including some sub-assembly, chrome-plating and stamping of parts, would be outsourced to Harley suppliers under a plan the company told workers about Wednesday.
The moves would reduce the number of workers at the York operations regardless of whether the company decides to keep any of its operations in York County.
